Mo Hamilton
Mo Hamilton is a painter and block printer. Some of her most recent work includes the 100 Houses Project.

I think a lot of my art represents experiences people have. For example, I just finished my 100 houses project and I use the houses as a symbol and its experiences people have when they move...They have an emotional component to them and I think people really resonate with them because they recognize in my art an experience they've had.
"My art tends to come from my imagination. It's just daydreaming, things I think of when I'm in the car. If i go for a walk, I get ideas"

"I try to create art that addresses the changes and emotion that people have."

"I feel we have a really wonderful, diverse group of artists here and I actually think living in the north is quite conducive to creating art because we have an amazing art community here."

"The landscape, the geography, that fact that we have longer winters I think is really conducive to being in a studio, having more time with the short days in the winter."
"Its a great place to live, to make art."

In her spare time, Mo enjoys cooking, walking her dog, playing her ukulele, and doing yoga.
