Gillian Wigmore
Gillian Wigmore is an author and poet. She has written the following books: Soft Geography, Dirt Of Ages, Orient, Grayling, Glory, and Night Watch: The vet Suite.

Night Watch means a lot to me because its about vet work and I've never seen anyone do any thing harder with more integrity than watching my dad work. It was devastatingly hard work and it was also so beautiful and I hope that I got that across. It means a lot to me that I wrote about that. I really liked writing about the place I'm from, where I grew up, brothers and sisters, and sweethearts.
Gillian's books take place in northern BC. "The way that I want to represent the region, top of my mind, is just I really want to describe the place well. I want this place to be recognizable to anyone who lives here and I want them to feel like their place matters so much that it would exist in literature."

Outside of reading and writing, she likes to go on canoe trips, walk and run with her dogs.
